It's important, because the Scripts and Screenplays gallery is 99.9% full of crap.
This is a terrible state of affairs, and one which we, TheCabalists, aim to amend by offering you all a chance to win $US20 worth of points. How?
We are holding a competition.
This competition entails writing a three-act play.
One which, hopefully, will brighten the ghastly gloom of Scripts and Screenplays a little, as well as bringing you vast acclaim and much applause for making that gallery suck a little less. Oh, and $20 worth of points.
Never written a play? Never fear. It's not that hard. This series of articles should get you started.
Of course, there are rules to this competition, the non-observance of which will lead to the disqualification of your play, so read carefully:
The Hows & Whens
The play will consist of three acts. More, if you like, but NO LESS.
Entries MUST have been written specifically for this competition. If we even smell resubmission of an older piece, it'll be disqualified.
All submissions MUST be in either:
- Standard US Stageplay Format,
or
- Standard UK Stageplay Format
Submission Content: Pay Attention Here
Nobody will die, and especially no one will commit suicide, in the range of your play.
There will be no blatant racial commentary.
It will be unacceptable to write a "Critique of the American Dream".
You can't lambast marriage and call it social commentary.
NO ELIZABETHAN ENGLISH. NO ELIZABETHAN ENGLISH EVAR.
Submission Details
The DUE DATE is 31st August, 2010. No late entries will be considered.
Please NOTE your submission to salshep by midnight, EST, on the due date.
The winner will be announced in a news by September 21.
Entries which meet Gallery standards will be offered a place in TheCabalists Gallery, which is reserved for works of particular merit.
Here's your chance to have your work lauded by all, win money, and save a sick and sorry literature category from collapsing under the weight of its own lame. How epic.
Donations of prizes toward this act of heroism will be gratefully accepted.
Have fun!

Thank you - and an apology
Thanks so much (belatedly) for all the birthday cheers, dear people-- I was reading, if not posting, and it was lovely reading your messages. :)
And also, I'm so sorry I've been absent -- I know I had plans with some of you, and the whole CommunityLit (https://www.deviantart.com/communitylit) thing, and I hope I haven't let anyone down too badly. Things are better for me now, and I'm back on a more regular basis, so please do poke me if you need anything, or want to continue a project, or just say 'hi'.
I see some of you have been really busy writing/creating. I can't wait to catch up on all of it! <3

Happy Holidays!
Dear dA friends and loved ones, I hope you're all having a wonderful holiday. I am revelling in post-Christmas day food bloat and deep relaxation, the weather is lovely, and all is well. May your day be as blessed.
I'm really looking forward to 2019 -- I've a couple of exciting plans and, more importantly, the energy to carry them out.
What are your plans for the coming year?
Winners of Slinkyfest. And what Jon-Law said.
^ awesome.
:bulletred: What Jon-Law (https://www.deviantart.com/jon-law) Said
The godfather of Lit himself popped into CommunityLit yesterday, and said a thing that really helped me get perspective on this place.
I have to paraphrase, sorry, but basically the gist was, "Quit worrying about dA's problems - stfu and write".
Sometimes one just needs to be told these things, you know?
So, more energy will go to awesome projects like CommunityLit (https://www.deviantart.com/communitylit) (where a real sense of community is slowly but surely developing, thanks to a great bunch of chat regulars) and the various things run by other worthwhile Lit groups ---- and ofc, there'll be writing.
And if dA wants to let i
